6th Grade Social Studies

Welcome to OakRun! I am beyond excited to be your 6th grade Social Studies teacher this school year. I have been a 6th grade teacher for 22 years and this will be my 21st year at ORMS. I received my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Abilene Christian University in 1994. My family and I had the opportunity to move to New Braunfels in 1997 and we're so glad we did! We love the community and are thankful to have raised our children in such a wonderful place. I love teaching 6th grade and I look forward to working with each and every one of you this year.

I love:

- to be with my family.

- to play with my grandchildren.

- my friends.

- to travel.

- to shop.

- New Braunfels Unicorns!

- Kentucky Wildcat Basketball!

Welcome to your 6th Grade Social Studies Classroom :-)

Class Expectations:

1. Arrive to class on time.

2. Be prepared (bring all your supplies).

3. Respect yourself and your education.

4. Respect other students, adults, and property.

iTunes U

With the integration of the iPad initiative within our middle school, we will be assigning most assignments on the iPad.  If you would like access to my iTunes U Course, please email me for the Course Code.  Not all assignments will be iPad compatible, students will still be constructing items on paper.

Notability is the student "binder".  Electronic resources and assignments will be distributed through iTunes U and then downloaded to Notability.  Please help your student stay organized by frequently checking their Notability App.

Notability should be organized as follows:

1. Name a DIVIDER Social Studies.

2. Create the following SUBJECTS in your divider:

  • Social Studies Resources
  • Geography & North America
  • Latin America
  • Antarctica, & Oceania
  • Fall Benchmark
  • Europe & Russia

  • Final Exam
