Reading Logs are checked on Fridays. Students should read a total of 100+ minutes each Friday to Thursday night. Students should record the title and minutes read for each day in their agenda (Either in the top "Reading" section for each day or down below in the parent signature box.)  Parents please initial if students record minutes.

High frequency words
Below are the high frequency words for the 3rd grade. Students will be responsible to know these words and will be monitored.  I have also attached the 2nd grade list for review!

If a student does not pass the daily timing, the test will be taken home to practice as "homework."  Parents please sign/initial that practice was completed and the paper should be returned the very next day.

Spelling words are written in the agendas on Fridays.  Four activities from the monthly spelling menu should be completed on notebook paper each week and then turned in on Friday.

Websites to Practice Math
Useful math websites for students and their parents
(national library of virtual manipulatives like base 10 blocks, geoboards, etc.)
(glossary of math terms with definitions, examples, and pictures)
(nice article on helping kids at home with math)
(Drill grames for various topics; click on the blue tabs to access the different drills.)
(Provides parents with great ideas to incorporate math in other places, besides school!)
(Awesome activities on the web!)
(The site says it donates 10 grains of rice through the World Food Programme to help end hunger! I don’t know all the details, but it sounds kinda cool!)
 3rd Grade TEKS
This guide is provided to give you a general idea of our topics of study throughout the year.  For more specific information, read the standards (TEKS=Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills).
