Hello and welcome to physical education at Klein Road Elementary! My name is Nathan Novsek and this is my fifth year teaching elementary P.E. but my first at KRE.  I am a 2011 graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where I attained my bachelors in physical education teacher education. I am originally from southern Illinois but moved to Texas with my wife Alison in 2015. Being involved with sports and leading an active/healthy lifestyle have always been very important aspects of my life. I consider myself very fortunate to have the opportunity to motivate and teach young students about these aspects each and every day.

Our curriculum this year will be one that focuses on skill development, fitness, team building skills, and the importance of leading healthy and active lifestyles. I strive to create a P.E. atmosphere that is inviting and engaging allowing all to have the opportunity to be successful. My goal is for all students to have an enjoyable and beneficial physical education experience at KRE.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns!

                                                                Mileage Club at KRE!

All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students have the opportunity to be a part of our Mileage Club. We will meet every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:00-7:25 A.M., weather permitting. Those students who are not able to get to school at these times will have the opportunity to participate on Fridays during P.E.  This club is a great way for students to be active and socialize with peers. Our goal is for students to understand the importance of being physically active and want to continue being active outside of Mileage Club. Students involved are responsible for keeping track of their own mileage card which allows them to better understand one of our main KARE values here at KRE, responsibility!

If a card is lost, they will have the opportunity to get a new one at the beginning of each week. We have developed incentives along the way to encourage those involved to push themselves and get better each andand every week! Any time they fill a card, 4 miles, students will be given a new one.

Good behavior and effort in P.E. and their classroom is required to a part of Mileage Club. Those who do not follow these expectations will to be allowed to participate. Please encourage your child to get involved and keep track of their mileage with them!
