Jennifer Reid Beale

NBMS Legends Dance Team Director

NBMS Dance Education & Blue Squad Teacher

I was named New Braunfels High School Monoceras Varsity Dance Team, Mystics JV Pom Squad & Sapphires Pep Squad Director in June 2012.

During the summer of 2017, I accepted a wonderful new opportunity to start a middle school dance program, assist with the Blue Squad program and take directorship of the NBMS Legends Dance team.

I bring fourteen years of experience as a high school dance and drill team director to New Braunfels ISD. I come to NBISD from North East Texas, where I served as director of the Mabank High School Pantherettes Dance Team in Mabank, TX for three years. Prior to that, I was the Belles Varsity Dance Team and Stars Pep Squad Director at Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, TX from 2005 – 2008 where in February of 2007 my Belles earned a Small Team Champion title at HTE Dance Hill Country Classic Contest.

As a college student, I was a member of the Cisco Jr. College Wrangler Belles and the Texas State Strutters.

Over the years, I have supervised and assisted in the performances of hundreds of young dancers in the their various performances and have assisted with choreography for the nationally televised HTE Dance Children’s Christmas Parade.

I look forward to seeing what the future holds for the talented young ladies I am blessed to have on my team. As this program continues to grow, so do the abilities of our dancers. Their strength and determination serve as my constant motivation to see them excel and become an even more known and recognized team in their area. It is with great pride that I come to work every day and that I joined the NBMS Dance Team organization and the strong legacy of young women who have come before me.

I earned my Bachelors of Science degree with a Major in Dance and Minor in History from Texas State University in May 2005.

NBMS Parent Update - 3/29/20
03/29/2020

Parents/Guardians,

We wrapped up the first week of our new A/B schedule and it seemed very successful. Moving forward, we will continue to review our processes, and necessary adjustments will be made considering all parties involved – students, parents, and teachers.

With that said, we’ve made one minor adjustment to what we communicated last week regarding grades. It was originally stated that all teachers would reach out to every parent with a phone call should their child not complete that week’s assignment(s). In hopes of not overwhelming you with phone calls and/or emails, students and parents will receive a weekly general reminder to submit assignments and check txConnect for grades.

Below are refreshers as to our current instructional plan.

  • Teachers will push out lessons/activities from (noon) on Sunday through 8:00 AM each Monday morning. This should allow you to plan out your week at home.
  • Grades will be entered on Fridays. This should greatly reduce the amount of time you spend gauging your child’s academic standing.
  • Teachers can stream live sessions of their subject during detailed times. This should prevent overlapping with other subjects. Teachers will record these sessions and post them in their online classrooms for students who could not attend during the scheduled time.
  • All staff are available 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday, to assist you and your child.

Thank you for the patience as we continue to refine our distance learning approach. We also appreciate all the kind emails and phone calls - they mean more than you’ll ever know.

Sincerely, Greg Hughes – NBMS Principal

Padres / Guardianes,

Instructional Plan UPDATE
03/19/2020

Parents/Guardians,

As you’ve been made aware, NBISD campuses are closed through Friday, April 3. We know this is a challenging time for everyone, and we are continuously looking for ways to improve our support at NBMS.

After reflecting on this past week and discussing the best academic approach in our current situation, we have made some adjustments to our instructional delivery.

Starting this coming Monday, March 23, we will follow an A/B (or block) schedule. In this setup, students will be assigned activities to complete for classes on an “every other day” format. Our hope is this type of schedule allows you, as a family, to organize academic time in an easier and more successful way.

Teachers will push out lessons/activities and parent communication about the upcoming week from 12:00 PM (noon) on Sunday through 8:00 AM each Monday morning. This will provide you a smaller window of time to sort through teacher messages and assigned activities. Our goal is to prevent you from having to look for activities and communication throughout the week.

Even though instructional time for particular classes is scheduled every other day, all campus staff will be available from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday, to assist you and your child. Do not hesitate to contact anyone. You can find all contact information at http://schools.nbisd.org/page/nbms.directory.

Additionally, teachers will enter grades only on Fridays - this is another attempt to create consistency for you at home in trying to support your child. On Fridays, if your child has not submitted his/her assigned activity for any class, teachers will attempt to inform you by phone. If teachers are not successful in reaching you, they will send a follow up email. We want to ensure each parent is aware of their child’s progress.

Attached is the A/B (or block) schedule we are encouraging at home NBMS Instructional Plan.pdf. Should any of your child’s teachers provide a live activity or tutoring session, those activities or sessions will stream during the detailed time. These live sessions are NOT mandatory and will NOT prevent your child from being successful - they are just an extended academic opportunity. If any teachers choose to provide a live session, they will communicate it to their students and parents beforehand.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to improve our distance learning approach. Our ultimate goal is to provide your child meaningful learning opportunities at home while not adding stress to an already uncertain time.

To keep in line with our staff approach, “You can’t do it better without TEAMWORK.”

Sincerely, Greg Hughes – NBMS Principal
