Shannon Duffy is the LeadWorthy and Dance Director at OakRun Middle School. She is passionate about students, leadership development, and the fine arts.
Mrs. Duffy has been involved with dance and dance education for over 35 years. She has performed civically and professionally, including positions with Ballet Lubbock, the Houston Ballet, and New York-based Regents Dance Theater. She has choreographed performances for the Alamo Bowl Half-Time Show, as well as the America and USA pageant systems. Mrs. Duffy has performed in music videos, commercials, and instructional videos both as a choreographer and as a dancer. In addition to teaching dance and Teen Leadership at OakRun, she is a certified personal trainer, yoga, and group exercise instructor, as well as an LMT. Shannon is a well-loved coach at 9Round New Braunfels, and she and her husband enjoy training individuals, corporate clients, and families in all areas of fitness, sports nutrition, stress management, and wellness lifestyles through their company, NeoForm Fitness.
Mrs. Duffy strongly believes in the lifelong value of fitness, wellness, and the performing arts. She loves to see her students, of all ages, developing body, mind, spirit, and confidence through movement. She has been recognized as OakRun Teacher of the Year, NBISD Secondary Teacher of the Year, and as Texas Outstanding Teacher of the Humanities.
She is certified in Dance, PE, Speech Communication, English Language Arts 6-12, Teen Leadership/LeadWorthy, ESL, and PALs. In addition to a B.A. in Communication and English, Mrs. Duffy has an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as her Principal's Certification, and a number of health and fitness certifications. In her spare time, Mrs. Duffy enjoys obstacle course mud running, coaching and training, reading, art, scuba diving and weight training with her husband, watching Dallas Cowboys football, and spending time with friends, family, and pets.
