1. In observance of
Martin Luther King, Jr Day, there will be no school on Monday, January 18th.
2. Attention Seniors: the FAFSA priority deadline is this Friday,
January 15th for Texas public colleges/universities. Some schools may have earlier deadlines so be
sure to check with every school of interest.
If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Mrs. Miller in
the College & Career Center.
3. Students who need to request a schedule
correction must do so by this Friday by accessing the link on the counselor
website. Be sure you are requesting a
change with your alpha counselor. Not
all requests can be honored due to class size, class conflicts, or class
availability. Students who request a
schedule correction must check their school email for a message from their
counselor regarding changes.
4. If you are interested in trying out
for the Unicorn baseball team for the spring 2021 season, scan the QR code
outside of the small gym located on the gym doors. Tryout information, and dates are
included. You must have a physical on
file. If you have any questions, please
contact Coach Alford through email.
5. Report cards may be picked up from Mrs.
Spencer in the back office.
6. Attention all HOSA members: there will be a HOSA meeting today after
school in Mrs. Reyes’ room 306.
7. The FCCLA
will be hosting a blood drive at Epic Life Church this Sunday, January 17. To sign up, see the posters that are up
around the school. For requirements, go
to South Texas Blood and Tissues Center website.
8. Attention Seniors: tonight from 6-8pm we have a parent Project
Graduation planning meeting in the commons.
We are asking that only 1 parent per Senior attend due to Covid-19
precautions. This will be an informative
meeting. You will receive 100 points for
a parent attending.
9. The boys’ varsity basketball secured another
win last night against the East Central
Hornets. Final score 49-46. Our girls’ varsity also defeated East Central
Hornets 61-56. Congratulations!
10. Good luck to your unicorn cheerleaders as
they head to Fort Worth today for the UIL Spirit State Championships! Go Blue!
