Reopening Information from August 5, 2020

Morning Procedures

  • Doors will open at 7:30 AM.
  • All students will only enter through the School of Choice entrance, located in the 9th Grade Center back parking lot, across from the bandhall.
  • Staff will be present to check for Student IDs, masks, and dress code.
  • As students enter, they should report to their appropriate lab.
  • Students will have access to breakfast only before school starts and should ask school staff for permission to go to the cafeteria to retrieve it.
  • Students will be expected to use hand sanitizer prior to entering the lab.

Campus Movement

  • Students will be contained in the School of Choice building and will not circulate in the 9th Grade Center, with exceptions being the counselor’s office, nurse’s office, and cafeteria.
  • Students will remain in one, consistent lab throughout the day.  The only time they will change rooms will be when they attend intervention classes in the School of Choice building.

Lunch Periods

  • Lunch will be provided to eligible students.  They will be escorted to the 9th Grade Center Cafeteria, where they will get a lunch, and then bring it back to the School of Choice building to eat it.  Six foot social distancing will be enforced during lunch.
  • Students will not be permitted to eat lunch in the 9th Grade Center Cafeteria.

Remote Learning

  • Remote learning students will use the Apex curriculum with a possible combination of synchronous (Zoom) intervention classes.
  • Remote intervention classes will be offered at set times in conjunction with in-school intervention classes.  There will not be separate remote intervention class times.
  • Remote learning students will be required to work everyday during their regular assigned school hours.
  • All students will be expected to meet weekly with administration to discuss progress and to set goals, even if it is via a Zoom meeting.

  • School of Choice will be at approximately half capacity, with students sitting at every other computer.
  • We will attempt to limit intervention classrooms to 15 students.
  • Students will be required to wear masks all day, with the exception being when they eat lunch.
  • Water fountains will be limited to refillable bottle stations.
  • One student from each lab will be permitted in the restroom at a time.
